An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager for the Building division. You will be responsible for delivering high value projects within the Building Division. This will predominantly be a single high value scheme but may occasionally be a number of medium value schemes.
You will maintain the highest standards of health, safety and quality. You will ensure the correct interpretation of the design briefs are established and the delivered solutions meet and potentially exceed the expectations of the client and the Division. You will determine the most efficient and cost effective compliant approach whilst delivering outstanding projects.
Assisted by the Commercial Manager and Project QS Team you will demonstrate and develop financial controls that detail profit and loss and detailed cost to complete reports for each project within the program.
You will be fully responsible for ensuring the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards in all areas of delivery.
What you'll be doing day to day
- Operate, manage and control the QESH Management Systems in accordance with instructions from the Health and Safety Team
- Ensure commercial challenge at all times to the site team
- Achieve the financial objectives and targets established at site level within the contract, or other instructions by the Contracts Manager / Head of Construction
- Ensure the minimum of waste results from all operations on site and that proper and effective standards of housekeeping are maintained
- Regularly review project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve performance
- Coordinate with the Project Team to ensure that the design activities are visible and that all operations are aligned to support the programme
- Promote behaviours to influence best performance

- Upload documentation as and when necessary in line with business requirements to folders
- Support staff development
- Build client, consultant and supply chain relationships
- Promote Near Miss and Positive Intervention reporting
- Development of strong team working relationships

- Reviewing sub-contractor performance
- Ensure audit findings are closed out
- Contract and financial negotiations
- Set and monitor targets
- Ensuring all staged design/programmes are updated in line with requirements
- Monitoring of site Health and Safety behaviours
- Implementation of business improvement plans
- Ensuring all project KPIs and KPMs are achieved
- Ensuring compliance to Divisional & client procedures
- Cost risk management and early identification of problematic projects
- Ownership of the entire project including design, costs, programme, documentation, site activities and procurement
- Bring and drive innovative ideas
- High management level meeting attendance as required
