US law firm is looking to hire a new Library & Research Specialist to provide a research and reference service to the lawyers. Duties will include working with library and research staff in the Firm's other offices to provide Library and Research Services support to the whole firm, answer a diverse range of queries and conducts research in the legal practice areas of the London office, often under significant time pressure and within strict deadlines, source and retrieve documents using a range of electronic resources and databases, source materials for lawyers, by request, from external libraries including the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, the Bodleian Law Library and the British Library, as well as others, communicate and coordinate with library staff in the Firm's other offices to source materials from libraries outside the UK, conducts press searches using Westlaw, Lexis and Internet resources, maintain library stock, including shelving and filing loose-leaf updates in both London offices, checks in journals and loose-leaf updates and maintains journal routing lists, catalogue and carry out end-processing for new library material using Millennium, order library materials when requested and authorized, including the creation of order records, prepare invoices for payment, allocating the appropriate cost code, allocate database passwords to new members of staff and assists in their induction and provide support and assistance for work on Partners' books on International including document retrieval, citation checking and instruction on using resources. Ideally looking for applicants with a recognised qualification in librarianship or relevant allied profession and have knowledge of UK legal resources and research techniques, with the ability to learn EU, International and US research materials and resources. Previous legal experience of working in a law firm library and or research department is essential
