Our client is looking to recruit an EHS Specialist. This is a permanent role and a key position within the business. If you have the experience required and you are looking for a new challenge, this is a great opportunity to work for a well respected defence company.
The role;
Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist: Promote and maintain a high standard of Health and Safety culture, facilitate the achievement of sustainable corrective actions and provide support to continual improvement initiatives.
Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with Government, Corporate and local safety regulations and industry standards.
Main objective is to maintain a safe workplace, protect the employees, all visitors to the site and the environment.
When required: Carry out EHS based audits against the Company's and Corporate documented EHS system and subsequently verify that any corrective actions have been effectively implemented.
QA & Facilities administration: The position also includes maintaining the Company Documented Quality System and associated administration and the Facilities department administration.
The main objective is to support Operational requirements and Quality Assurance activities
Tasks: In order to achieve the desired results, involvement in the following areas of activity may be required
EHS
* Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
* Prepare and enforce policies to maintain a culture of health and safety & safe workplace
* Evaluate & monitor practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to Policies, Procedures and regulatory requirement's
* Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
* Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
* Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes
* Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
* Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
* Arrange Health Surveillance
* Development and review of EHS plans, requirements and implementation Job description issued/reviewed.
