Part Time Housekeeper, Elgin

Greycoat Lumley's clients are seeking a Part Time Housekeeper for their Castle on Speyside in Banffshire. The castle is open to the public and also used as the private residence for the Principals. They are a very welcoming family and are looking for either a housekeeper to join them primarily to look after their private residence, assist in housekeeping, provide some childcare and be responsible for the security of the castle occasionally. This is a long term commitment as the family would like some stability. The family have had a couple who were there for a long time and have now decided to move on to new adventures.
Duties:
• Cleaning and laundry duties- Such as care of Antiques and delicate fabric.
• Caretaking and security in the Castle, particularly in the Principals' absence
• Evening baby-sitting the 3 children up to twice per week, and occasional daytime childcare by prior arrangement.
• Looking after the Principals' one Labrador in their absence.
• Checking on the Castle for maintenance- ensuring no pipes have burst etc.
• Occasional assistance in food preparation
• Serving at dinners and other events as required.
• Occasional driving of the family.

There may be an exciting possibility that the housekeeper could assist the Castle tourism team for around 12 hours per week during the summer season.
This is a key role of considerable responsibility. Our client is looking for a person who has an eye for detail and who takes pride in their work. The ideal candidate will have a friendly personality, like children and dogs and be happy working both on their own and as part of a team.

Accommodation: Rent-free self-contained Caretaker's flat within the castle
Council Tax, Utility bills and reasonable oil will be paid for by the Principal

Salary: Competitive

Hours: 3 hours per day housekeeping - 5 days per week
Flexibility and occasional long hours may be required at busy times of year.
