Based at: Riverside House
Salary details: GBP62,697 - GBP67,085 per annum
Job details: 37 Hours, Full Time, Permanent

Rotherham Council has made rapid and significant progress on its improvement journey and it is an exciting time to join Rotherham. Do you share our commitment to making a difference? Are you an ambitious leader who can help us progress on this journey?

We have recently reviewed and reorganised the Finance service to ensure that it has the capacity and leadership required to deliver the excellent service that is needed and expected in order to achieve the Council's future ambitions. These are two great opportunities to work at the heart of the organisation, making a real difference and playing a crucial role shaping the future of the Council.

As members of the Financial Services Management Team (see structure chart), the post holders will each lead a Finance team providing high level finance business partnering advice and support to the Directorate for Regeneration and Environment and the Directorate for Adults, Public Health & Housing.

The post holders will also be a member of the relevant Directorate's Leadership Team and will be responsible for delivery of a work programme jointly set by the Strategic Director for the Service and the Strategic Director - Finance and Customer Services. The post holders report to the Assistant Director - Financial Services (Deputy S151 Officer).

If you are an ambitious CCAB qualified accountant with excellent management and leadership qualities, looking for a career enhancing opportunity to make a genuine difference, then we would love to hear from you.

Please view the Job/Person profile for a full description of the roles, person specification and a Financial Services Management Team Structure Chart.

Informal discussions with prospective candidates are welcomed. To find out more about these roles and the vision for Rotherham's financial services of the future, please contact Judith Badger, Strategic Director - Finance & Customer Services, (); or Graham Saxton, Assistant Director - Financial Services ().

Applications from Women, people from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities and Disabled People are welcomed as under-representation currently exists at this level within the organisation. Section 159 of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

The posts are classed as 'politically restricted' under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended). The full details of the restrictions are set out in the Statutory Instrument, but broadly the restrictions prohibit candidature from public elected office; holding office in a political party; as well as involvement in political activities such as canvassing or public speaking/writing.

In order to support the Council's requirement to save a further GBP41 million from its budget, by collective agreement, from 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2020 there is a temporary 1.15% pay reduction from the advertised substantive salary quoted, which will be spread out by means of a weekly/monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure three additional day's leave (pro rata for part time workers and new starters in year) will be granted.

The posts will have access to the Public Services Network, if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions).

Closing date 10 th February 2019
