This is one of eight similar roles across the UK, all of which report directly to the CTO while working closely with the local leadershipteam of this cutting-edge, award-winning consultancy. Were looking for a unique mix of technical expertise, sound experience, drive, verve and gravitas; all rolled into a Chief Engineer who understands the big picture and knows how to explain it persuasively to clients. We need someone who not only helps build software and pitch it to clients, but also enjoys immersing themselves in thetech market, attending and speaking at events and bringing new learning to the table. As Chief Engineer, youll have considerable autonomy and will be expected to identify issues and develop initiatives across your territory, rolling up your sleeves to direct wider teams as required and getting things done by providing effective, practical solutions and demonstrating the clear difference a hack culture makes to the company and its clients. Non-delivery work will include overseeing technical solutions for projects, bids and proposals, client support to ensure delivery quality remains at the highest levels, organising interest groups and developing a culture of innovative technical excellence. Youll probably come from a software development or architecture background (although neither is essential), but youll certainly bring first-class, maybepolyglot, coding skills, coupled with an outgoing, personable approach and the ability to build and develop long-term relationships across the length and breadth of the company and country.
