Company Overview

A successful Housing Association is looking to take on an Accountant who has experience in Treasury. This organisation has an ambition to grow its asset base, increase margins, improve operational ways of working, improve customer and client experience and increase its social responsibility. Treasury has a critical role to play in the Group in order to improve growth and ambition. This is a temporary role which will be ongoing for a minimum term of 4-6 months.

Your Package

  • Full time hours
  • Monday to Friday (36.25)
  • GBP37-GBP40,000

Your Responsibilities

  • Effective treasury management service across the Group in areas of management accounting
  • Daily & monthly accounting processes in City Financials/Business World providing analysis and commentary for budgeted/forecast amounts
  • Ensure accurate and timely input of accounting of Treasury items, including mark-tomarket revaluation of derivatives, within the TMS and Business World
  • Ensure accounting of financial instrument and associated notes are prepared in accordance with relevant accounting conventions (IFRS 9), minimising volatility in the financial statements
  • Completion of daily & monthly treasury accounting processes in City Financials, including Month End accruals.
  • Provide guidance and advice to operating subsidiaries on Treasury items as required
  • Support the Treasury Manager with queries pertaining to external/internal audit and Regulator of Social Housing
  • Work collaboratively with Management accounts and Financial accounts teams to resolve queries that may arise
  • Loan covenant monitoring
  • Improve efficiency in treasury operations through greater use of the treasury management system (City Financials), and greater integration with electronic banking platforms and internal accounting systems

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant
  • Strong proven experience in an accounting role
  • Experience of financial controls, year-end account preparation and internal/external auditor liaison.
  • Strong stakeholder management and able to deliver to tight deadlines

Beneficial

Exposure to hedge accounting/associated accounting standards (IAS, 21, 32, 39 and/or IFRS 9, 13)
