B3Living is the largest independent housing association in the Borough of Broxbourne, providing over 4,600 homes across Hertfordshire and Essex. Our mission is to build a range of homes for social rent, private rent and shared ownership to counteract the local housing crisis and shortage of homes in our area.

We are currently seeking a Development Surveyor to supervise the procurement and construction of development schemes ensuring adherence to design and quality standards, specification, budget costs and agreed programme. You will review and appraise contractors proposals, procure building through frameworks and tender process and issue site instructions or change requests to inform design.

Further to this, you will regularly carry out site inspections to monitor construction progress and report/action/address as required, snag building work prior to handover, undertaking post-inspection of remedied works, signing-off works as completed and accepting handover from the contractor.

We are looking for someone who has a comprehensive knowledge of traditional and modern construction methods and a strong knowledge of construction and building maintenance. You must have excellent time management with the ability to identify construction/contractual related issues and confidence to challenge where necessary. You will have either a recognised architectural, planning, surveying, building/construction qualification or be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge gained through experience.

All our vacancies are open to flexible working arrangements. We offer a competitive benefits package including generous leave entitlements and a personal pension scheme. We believe in the benefits of a diverse workforce and strongly welcome applications from those currently under-represented in the organisation, including LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people, people with disabilities and people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.

Closing date: Wednesday 6th February 2019.
