My client was formed in 1985 and have over thirty years experience in providing tailored support services (cleaning, manned guarding and buildings maintenance) to suit the needs and budget of their clients. The company serve a client base across the south of England, from the south coast, into the Thames Valley and east into London. Their mantra is to create long term partnerships with their clients offering competitive pricing along with superior levels of customer service. Their client base tends to have smaller niche sites.

I am currently on the client's behalf looking for an Area Manager. The portfolio mainly covers sites in the Thames Valley heading east into areas bordering London including Leatherhead, Croydon and Heathrow. The role will involve managing a portfolio of sites in the region. The portfolio is a mixture of commercial premises. The role has responsibility for ensuring the highest level of cleaning standards and customer and staff satisfaction is maintained through excellent customer service, taking personal responsibility for ensuring the company's professional accreditation and high standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform site inspections at regular intervals.

* Maintain regular client contact with personal visits and/or other forms of communication including phone calls and emails at interval.

* Schedule regular formal review meetings with the client base (where appropriate and desired by the client) to provide a formal opportunity for clients to give feedback on the quality of service and to discuss current and future requirements.

* Ensure that health and safety standards are maintained at all times as specified in the Health and Safety Manual and in line with client H&S Regulations thus facilitating a safe working environment for all.

* Plan & schedule all scope of works including the periodic cleaning programme and additional work requests to deadline and within budget.

* Ensure that all operatives uphold and implement the company values and working practices.

* Maintain frequent communication with the on-site, mobile and periodic teams to ensure that the site specific requirements and cleaning programme is carried out to expected standards.

* Plan and facilitate ongoing training for on-site, mobile and periodic teams as appropriate and required.

* Train/monitor Site Supervisors, who have responsibility for training on-site teams, high service standards and maintaining client contact.

* Provide feedback on performance of staff to the Regional Operations Manager (including identifying training needs).

* Ensure sufficient amounts of equipment, materials and consumables are on site to perform all tasks to standard/H&S requirements.

* Ensure the cleaning schedules are fully manned including the provision of cover at all times.

* Ensure adequate staffing levels by recruiting appropriate-quality staff following the company guidelines ensuring cleaning personnel always fulfils legal requirements to work in the UK, with the support from the Regional Operations Manager and Support team.

* Provide and Maintain accurate and timely HR documentation to the Head office HR department to ensure including payroll information and HR issues are communicated to the Regional Manager and Head office.

* Provide the Regional Operations Manager with regular updates on all matters relating to the contract.

* Maintain and provide accurate Management Information including KPIs, Quality Audits and checklists.

For this roles candidates should have at least of 5 years' experience in a similar role, a Knowledge of cleaning processes and equipment, conversant with H&S and COSHH Regulations. Possess the highest quality standards and customer service skills. Enjoys learning new aspects of the role; logical thinker, able to dissect and resolve problems that arise. Possess excellent communication skills at all levels both internal and external. Strong time management and attitude to flexibility, willing to work unsociable hours. Individual who takes full responsibility for the task taken on with strong organisational skills. PC literate and excellent working knowledge of MS Office. Embraces and displays a manage approach that fosters teamwork and recognition based motivation. This position involves visiting sites across South East, so flexibility with travel and evening work is required. The portfolio includes schools so an enhanced DBS check will be undertaken on the successful candidate.

Salary up to GBP30k (reviewed after 3 months), car, 22 days holiday, healthcare etc.
