Senior Buyer

The Company:

After recently aquiring a new business this design, manufacture and distribution organisation is looking for both a SENIOR BUYER and a JUNIOR BUYER to come on board and aid in growth. The SENIOR buyer will consolidate the supply base and manage a variety of commodities as well as negotiating prices with suppliers. The JUNIOR buyer will look after other commodities and aid the SENIOR buyer in their efforts. This organisation is fast paced, varied and needs someone with tenacity and applitude for learning.

The Role:

The key aspects that the JUNIOR buyer and SENIOR buyer will undertake on a day to day basis include; Raising PO's, chasing orders, maintaining and improving OTIF, Returns and quality issues through dealing with Production and manufacturing on a daily basis. The role is based on 50% applitude and the rest thinking on your feet. The ideal JUNIOR & SENIOR buyers will have experience in a similar SME with fast moving products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilising the MRP system to analyse and determine stock levels
• Ordering One off bespoke parts
• Working alongside Production & Manufacturing
• Liaising with Sales teams to raise relevant PO's
• Reading from technical drawings and BOM's to order bespoke parts
• Raising and sorting PO's
• Chasing orders & liaising with 3PL services
• Booking in orders using SAP and Sage200
• Managing Commodities
• Reducing prices by negotiating with suppliers
• Identify and engage new suppliers where needed

Required skill set:

• Previous experience with SAGE200 & SAP
• Raising PO's & chasing suppliers
• Worked within Engineering & Manufacturing
• Previous supplier & commodity management
• Experience with CNC turned/Fabricated/Milled parts
• Strong understanding of Technical drawings
• Purchased from BOM's previously
• Previous experience at an in-house manufacturing organisation

Personal Skills:

• CIPS Desired
• Able to hit the ground running
• Hands on manufacturing experience
• Charismatic & willing to learn

Salary: GBP25,000 - GBP35,000 DOE - In need of a Junior and a Senior buyer.
