We are looking for an EXPERIENCED PVCU FITTER for our local client for the provision of PVCU fabrication service for the window factory or within any Manufacturing departments as required.
You will be working as part of a busy team in Prince Rock.
KEY TASKS
Carry out tasks within the remit of a qualified Fabricator.
Reading drawings and taking information from specifications, schedules, manufacturer's details, etc.
Working within the tight constraints of Health and Safety and adhere to Plymouth Community Homes Health and Safety policy, including all relevant training requirements.
Piece together the different manufactured parts of PVCu Products.
Use hand tools or machines to complete windows and doors.
Check all manufactured goods are safe and within specified guidelines.
Check and maintain machinery/power tools.
Operatives may rotate through the different tasks required to produce a window or door.
Responsible for keeping work area tidy and free from waste materials.
Load/unload materials/stores.
Ensure all machines are switched off at the end of the shift.
To undertake a variety of Multi Skilled tasks including:
Glazing Welding Setting Out
Maintenance of PVCU doors and windows
You will need to have:
Considerable experience in manufacturing of PVCU or similar role or at least experience of working in, and a working knowledge within the construction/manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of reading interpreting drawing and ideally have knowledge of Health & Safety issues associated with construction/manufacturing industry.
Ability to work beyond normal hours on occasions to assist with emergencies
Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues. Trade Unions, staff and other organisations
Ability to work within Corporate Policies
Have a good understanding of Equal Opportunities including the nature of discrimination in employment
Must have a Full Driving Licence and ability to drive a company vehicle and comply with the requirements of the company insurers and ideally have NVQ II in fabricating of glass supporting systems along with a valid forklift licence.
Monday to Friday 37 hours
Basic Salary GBP21,287 with up to GBP25k-GBP28k per annnum OTE
Permanent
25-30 days holiday plus bank holiday, generous contributory pension scheme, sick pay scheme, relevant training, occupational health provision and employee assistance programme.
