I am currently looking a Production Manager to ensure optimisation of departmental performance to exceed set safety, quality, service, productivity & cost objectives, demonstrating a strong commitment to developing a flexible, multi skilled and engaged workforce
Leading the production supervision & personnel teams in day to day manufacturing activities, you will ensure all established KPI targets are met or exceeded, directly responsible for delivering safety within the department, in order to ensure a safe working environment and a decline in accident trends
Other key duties for this role include: -
* Responsible for maintaining the working environment to the agreed 5s Level & for driving general improvements to the working environment
* Responsible for the safe removal of all waste streams
* To support business requirements in all aspects of quality, ensuring reject and rework levels are within budgeted levels & sales returns / QLG's are minimised
* To ensure adherence to Quality Policy Manual, implementing and improving quality awareness and consistency in the department with the aim of attaining & maintaining accreditation to our internal, external and group standards whilst minimising any non-conformities at audit.
* To control measureable costs across the department including efficiencies, absence, downtime, overtime, labour and consumables, with the aim of maximising business profitability through operating within departmental budget targets. Vary accordingly with volume movements
* High emphasis should be paid to preventative activities particularly relating to equipment, tooling and infrastructure
* To maximise delivery service performance ensuring lead time commitments are met whilst minimising SLG's
* Provide a positive role model in terms of leading and motivating others by recognising good performance, encouraging involvement and participation of team members
* Provide direction and support for Supervisors and Team Leaders to achieve the agreed targets through team meetings providing a 2-way communication channel and regular feedback
* Co-ordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedures for all production operations
* Use continuous improvement tools appropriately to challenge the standard and ultimately deliver improvement
* Actively encourage improvement ideas through your team & drive implementation to strive for best practice
You will be educated to Degree Level standard or equivalent, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and success in achieving & exceeding KPI targets.
You will have experience of working within a high volume manufacturing environment, ideally with the ability to manage production budgets, ISO9001 systems knowledge, practical application of continuous improvement techniques and knowledge of clean-room type environments
