Our client are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to work on a high security project based in Reading. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager the jobholder will work independently on site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of sub-contract orders from tender enquiry through to the placement of the sub-contract order
* Preparation of monthly valuations
* Final accounts for both the main contract and sub-contractors.
* Cost control will be at the forefront of your role and you will assist in the evaluation of change for both the main contract and the sub-contracts
* CVR reporting.
* Preparing cost to complete documentation in line with the commercial timetable, ensuring financial accuracy when predicting profitability for each scheme.
* Produce accurate monthly accruals.
* Assess exactitude of subcontract valuations/applications for payment, forwarding approved documentation onto the relevant departments.
* Apply risk, value management and cost control mechanisms.
* Undertaking costs analysis comparisons for sub-contracts from tender enquiry to analysis and contract placement.
* Professionally manage subcontracts from first valuation through to final account.
* Ensure predicted profitability is upheld through the lifecycle of the development.
* Accurate quarterly cash flow forecast.
* Develop relationships with the sub-contractors, the design team and the employer's team and liaise with all throughout the lifecycle of the project.
* Be a key member of a successful project team, demonstrating enterprise, flexibility and resoluteness throughout.
Key skills/Experience:
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
* A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in the construction industry, ideally with NEC contract experience
* Be Chartered or on the path to gaining chartered membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
* Ability to be self-motivated and work co-operatively as part of a team.
