A Global Fruit and Vegetable procurement and distribution company that supplies the top five UK supermarkets is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to work on their Birmingham site.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a fast paced environment with a strong electrical background within Automotive, Aerospace, and food or FMCG sector.
Communication skills are of utmost importance within this role as well as the ability to work on your own initiative and manage your own time effectively. Good attention to detail/ 'right first time' approach is also imperative within this role as is a passion for high quality work.
The ideal candidate will need to be flexible as they will be working a weekly rotating shift pattern of 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm, 5 days out of 7.
The successful candidate will be responsible for;
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of all operational equipment whilst maintaining safe working practices responding to issues in a timely manner.
* Fault Diagnosis and Repair of a wide variety of Electrical and Mechanical Systems including Invertor Drives, PLC's, PSU's, Conveyors, Multi-head weighers, check weighers, flow wrappers, over-wrapping machines, gas flush machines and all other associated systems.
* Drive continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing techniques.
Skills Required
* Strong experience finding faults in electrical systems and control circuits.
* Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and control systems, fully conversant reading all engineering drawings both electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics. Ideally IEE qualified to 17/18th edition wiring Regulations
* Working knowledge and operation of all building services systems including refrigeration, fire alarm, fire sprinkler systems, air handling systems, air conditioning and computerised Building Management System.
* Experienced working with 3 phase electrical systems, DC control and safety circuits.
* Excellent mechanical skills to include fabrication, welding, motor repairs, gearbox repairs and plumbing.
Qualifications
* Recognised engineering qualifications to HNC or equivalent.
* IEE 17/18th Edition.
* Desirable: MEWP Trained, FLT Trained, IOSH/NEBOSH Certified, Food Safety
