Are you keen to develop your career in Fundraising? ActionAid has an amazing opportunity to come and work as part of our Events & Community Engagement team as the Events & Community Engagement Assistant.

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are ending violence against women and girls and helping change lives, for good. We won't stop until women and girls are out of danger, out of poverty and on track to create the future they want.

This is a pivotal role in an ambitious team, where you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of ActionAid's portfolio of fundraising events and community fundraising activities. You will develop relationships with all types of supporters, inspiring them to raise as much as they can for ActionAid, as well as providing marketing support to help recruit new supporters to take part in events and community fundraising activities.

You will proactively support groups, schools, individuals and event participants with their fundraising efforts. This will require building and managing excellent relationships with supporters to enable them to raise as much as they can for ActionAid and providing an engaging supporter experience to grow their long-term support.

You will also be involved in the marketing of our events and products that attract potential and existing supporters. This will require research, writing copy and sourcing imagery and engaging content, as well as regular reporting on marketing strategies.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is passionate about building relationships with all types of people. You will have strong writing skills and have the confidence to speak on the phone regularly to supporters.

A motivated self-starter, with a can-do attitude, you will have good organisational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and work to deadlines. The ability to quickly establish rapport and build trust are also key requirements for the position.

In return we offer a competitive salary, 27 days annual leave per year - plus the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days of annual leave per year as well as many other workplace benefits. You will also have plenty of opportunities to learn and develop your career.

If you have the skills we are looking for and want to help shape the events and community fundraising programme at ActionAid, in a dynamic, fast paced and ambitious team, please apply.
