We are looking for a talented, motivated and ambitious Graduate Electronics Engineer to join our client's team based in Royston. You will be developing the next-generation of digital printing products involving Electronics, Electrical and Software development.You will be a well-rounded engineer with interests spanning a broad range of electronics and software, who is excited by the idea of designing complete systems from scratch and who is keen to work on complex machines. The RoleYou will be involved in a mixture of hands-on development with machines and systems, product improvement programmes and ground-up design work, which might include:* Electronics and Electrical Design, ranging from PCB design to complete Electrical Control Panel design.* Embedded software development for FPGAs (using VHDL) / MCUs (using embedded C)* Developing Automation solutions using PLCs (using Ladder Logic for coding)* Testing and validation of new designs, including EMC and Safety compliance* High-level Application software development using .NET and Visual Studio* System debug and problem solvingEssential Requirements:* 1st or Upper 2nd Class Degree in a relevant discipline from a top engineering university* Curiosity, imagination, initiative and creativity* A solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principles beyond pure electronics, with strong problem-solving skills* A very strong understanding of the theory of electronic systems* Practical experience of designing electronics and putting it to the test in real situations, using a package like Altium, OrCAD or EAGLE to draw schematics* You know how to efficiently use a programming language to achieve your goals - either embedded into your systems or on a PC to model and analyse results* You have excellent communication and time management skills, work with attention to detail with analytical and innovative thinking and thrive under pressureDesirable Requirements:* Knowledge or working experience in some (or all) of the following areas: - Switch Mode Power Supplies - Digital Electronics design for high-speed FPGAs / MCUs - Analogue Electronics design for ADCs / DACs / Sensor Interfacing / LVDS etc. - .NET development using C# for Windows - WPF / WinForms / MVVM application development* Knowledge or experience with embedded software / firmware development (using VHDL and/or embedded level C)* Any automation experience using PLCs or automation kits like Arduino / Raspberry Pi etc
