Key Responsibilities

  • Interview and conduct robust due diligence around potential portfolio managers and analyst candidates
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to members of the broader recruiting team, as needed
  • Build relationships with buy side investors and sell side vendors.  This includes sell side and buy side analysts, portfolio managers, investment bankers and private equity analysts, institutional salespeople, and members of prime brokerage and capital introduction groups
  • Work with potential and existing portfolio managers to develop, build and execute on a business plan over time.  This especially pertains to hiring talent, scaling the coverage universe in order to increase capital levels deployed
  • Stay current on the hedge fund market especially in certain sectors on which you focus
  • Continue to stay in the flow on streetwise fund performance and other relevant color in the marketplace

Minimum Skillset Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a finance or business management related discipline from a top university
  • Knowledge/experience successfully recruiting in an investment/front office environment
  • Experience interacting with buy side investors, hedge funds and long only investors. Specific domain knowledge/expertise includes: Long/short equity
  • Strong ability to effectively manage external search firm relationships as well as identify appropriate channels in ones network to directly source top investment talent
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate candidate’s investment acumen and behavioral skills based on interview methodologies
  • Fluency in MSCI Barra’s Risk Models
  • Knowledge of security and portfolio analysis
  • Experience working in an extremely dynamic, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills with a client service mindset
