We are currently recruiting for a Lecturer A in AS/A Level History with the potential to deliver outstanding student achievement and a commitment to driving forward the provision of History to ensure student success.
This post would suit newly qualified graduates who wished to gain a teaching qualification or newly qualified teachers. Lecturer A's have reduced contact hours and are supported through a mentoring system and staff development programmes to develop their classroom practice.
As an ambitious lecturer A, you will work closely within the A Levels Division to ensure that students are actively engaged in all aspects of the delivery of AS/A Level History and you will also work within the Division and liaise with cross-college areas to enhance the student experience and provide the widest range of opportunities to our students.
As a trainee lecturer your contact teaching hours, relevant to subject specialism, will increase as you gain in skills and experience.
With a relevant degree level qualification in History or a related subject, ideally, you also possess a PGCE or Certificate in Education. However should you not have this, the College has an excellent Staff Development programme where a recognised teaching qualification can be gained.
You will have knowledge of current issues in Further Education relating to the curriculum area and through knowledge of current AS/A Level History specifications and experience of teaching History in an FE context would be beneficial, it is not essential to the post.
