You'll support our Police Authority and deliver excellent public sector governance

The Civil Nuclear Police Authority (CNPA) has a role defined by the Energy Act 2004 and a principal duty to secure the maintenance of an efficient and effective Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC), that is an armed police service that's dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. Given the critical nature of our work, it's vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our high-performing Executive support team.

As Board and Committee Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering a professional executive-level support service. You'll facilitate the delivery of the Civil Nuclear Police Authority's (CNPA) three-year business plan, supporting its ambition, mission and four strategic objectives. Accountable to the Head of Executive Office for managing the CNPA's governance framework, you will provide expert professional support and guidance relating to Board and Committee governance that will support key business decisions. You'll also proactively lead and manage the Secretariat support service that underpins the CNPA governance framework to support delivery of critical business to timescales.

To apply, you'll need a sound knowledge of corporate governance, preferably in the public sector, and the ability to develop an awareness and understanding of CNPA's governance frameworks. Proactive and possessing excellent organisational skills, you'll manage and lead a small team, organising and prioritising a varied workload, to ensure that corporate business is co-ordinated and professionally delivered in a timely manner and to tight deadlines. A naturally strategic thinker, you'll have experience of, and an ability to take, professional board-level minutes when required and the confidence to challenge any business issues arising as necessary. You'll possess excellent communication skills, and confidently form effective relationships with a range of people at a senior level. Importantly, you'll approach all situations with a high standard of professional integrity, being aware of the sensitivity of some of the issues being processed at all times.
