The Position:

They now have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Team Manager who will have the opportunity to work in an award-winning and highly customer-centric business in the heart of York's city centre. The role will manage a fundamental department and team of people to deliver the department and company objectives.

You will have experience of identifying areas for improvement and creating and implementing the strategy surrounding these areas. You will be providing learning opportunities for the team by identifying learning needs and helping to provide opportunities to address those needs.

You will act as the first point of contact for all lines of communication, dealing with each one professionally and courteously. You will work closely with all departments to ensure relevant information is communicated effectively and accurately both internally and externally. You will also work closely with other team members to resolve issues and implement change throughout the business.

Some of the activities that you will be responsible for include:

- Ensuring that the work required in your area of responsibility is effectively planned and fairly allocated, ensuring that the required standard of performance is being met.
- Assisting in the development and enhancement of company practices and processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Communicating ideas for improvement aimed at enhancing performance and efficiency at company, team and personal levels.
- Providing direction and support to team members.
- Attending and participating in regular team meetings and liaise and communicate openly and effectively with colleagues.
- Building and sustaining an effective, professional relationship with suppliers ensuring that the Company and all of its brands are viewed positively.
- Ensuring that all work activities within the team are carried out the highest standard and within the required timescales.
- Taking responsibility for own learning and development, keeping up to date with all policy, procedural and regulatory developments.
- Assisting with recruitment activities.
- Ensuring adequate cover for all shifts.

Team Manager Attributes:

- Proven experience of managing a team.
- Demonstrable commercial experience & awareness.
- Excellent IT skills, including Windows / Office / Outlook / Explorer /PowerPoint.
- Proven problem solving, accuracy, decision making and analytical capabilities.
- Have meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Previous work experience in a travel environment is preferred but not essential.
