HOURS:  Part time 30 Hours per week. (with Flexible Working)

LOCATION: Based at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham (with Flexible Working)

Salary: Band 3 - £21,417 - £30,840 (FTE)

British Canoeing is the United Kingdom's Governing Body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking.  This is an exciting time to join British Canoeing, as we are making progress in delivering Stronger Together - an exciting and ambitious new strategy for Paddlesport in the UK (2017-2021).

As a key member of the organisation within our Governance and Compliance team we are looking for someone who can take the lead on safeguarding in our clubs and centres and who can develop and embed safeguarding throughout the organisation. The role will involve working with and providing support to English Talent clubs and British Teams competing in non-Olympic disciplines of Paddlesports. Some travel will be required to meet the requirements of the role.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills combined with experience and awareness of safeguarding issues within sport, with a minimum of SPC1 training. Candidates will also ideally have experience of working with volunteers, preferably within the sporting sector. Some knowledge of legislation and best practise relating to Safeguarding is also preferred. A full, clean driving license is essential.
