Shift Production Manager / Supervisor- FMCG

Excellent opportunity to join a SME looking to expand their production management team. The role will encompass hands on management of a multi skilled team of production operatives working across a range of production processes within a food manufacturing environment team. We seek a skilled supervisor / manager with a proven background in successfully managing and developing staff and improving production processes.
As the Shift Production Manager, you will:
??Be entirely responsible for your own shift managing all production and staffing issues within your shift independently
??Work alongside your staff in a hands on capacity on a continental shift pattern of 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts days and night
??Manage staff performance, absence, sickness and late attendance and undertaking disciplinary procedures
??Train and motivate staff, multi-skill team members and empower them to take responsibility and have pride of their production area
??Look at efficiencies, undertake improvements projects and implement change where possible
??Produce effective production records
??Ensure the health and safety procedures are adhered to, report and manage any accidents and near misses
??Ensure that quality, food safety and hygiene standards are met and maintained
??Work with the lab and quality manager to establish root cause of any quality issues and implement corrective actions
??Work closely with engineering to ensure minimal breakdowns and full machine capacity
We seek:
??A candidate with previous management / supervisory experience in a food production environment or similar
??A target driven, quality minded individual with strong people management and development experience
??Someone with a proven background in implementing successful change and improvements in a FMCG environment
??A hands on manager happy to undertake physical work when required
??A problem solver with the ability to improve processes
??A great leader able to empower, motivate and train your team to achieve and exceed production and quality targets
Ideally, you will:
Hold a relevant Health & Safety qualification or in-house training certificate
Hold your Forklift truck licence or have experience of driving one and be happy to re-test
Hold food safety and HACCAP qualifications
