Chief Inspector
Our clients are looking for a person whom has a good engineering background, must be hands on and conversant with the running of CMM inspection, technically minded, a team player. Able to manage a team of 4 inspectors, set tasks or priorities to guarantee through put is achieved. Must be able communicate with subordinates and superiors alike. Be customer facing on technical issues. Must be self-motivated and professional in approach with a must do/can do attitude.
To oversee the implementation of the day to day Inspection activities of the inspection department within a high precision aerospace company. Achieving targets, objectives as set by the quality manager and production team. To develop a smooth running and efficient section.
Key Duties:
* Understand the requirements of production, assign staff/resources to achieve the customer delivery promises
* Attend cross functional meetings, taking ownership of commitments and efficiently flowing the requirements down to the inspection team
* Responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing product/materials
* Perform root cause analysis, identify problems and put in place corrective actions
* Manage in process inspection including timely first off and final inspections
* Understand manual inspection techniques and where required be hands on
* CMM inspection, have a good understanding of the process, be able to talk through set ups and inspection techniques with customer and subordinates
* Good understanding of F.A.I.R.'s and auditing activities
* Train/develop both new and existing staff and monitor to confirm progress
* Release signatory for quality sign off
* Knowledge of compliance to ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards
* Other duties as required
