Assembly Technician required for a bespoke manufacturer just outside of Salisbury, Wiltshire. This is Full-Time, temporary to permanent position. Paying GBP9.00-GBP9.50ph depending on skills and experience. Hours of work are Monday-Thursday 08.00-16.30 and Friday 08.00-15.30. Free parking is available. Once permanent, the company offers 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays, company pension and life insurance.
It would be beneficial if you have your own transport due to location, however, there is a frequent and reliable bus service on route.
As an Assembly Technician you will be working in a small friendly team to assemble Mechanical and Electrical components using a wide range of tools. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to wire, solder, crimp, cut and assemble components
- Pick items as per the works instruction
- Build items to manufacturing procedures, advising of any differences
- Test items to relevant production test procedures and update test record
- Follow work instructions in accordance with quality control procedures
- Complete build time and post manufacture check sheets
- Ensure all machinery and equipment is used is left in a safe & clean condition
- Work alone and as part of a team building large/complex orders
As an Assembly Technician you will be required to possess the following skills/experience:
- Mechanical/Electrical assembly experience or a practical mind, good dexterity and interest in this type of work
- Use of hand, power and crimping tools
- Ability to read, digest and follow instructions in both written and verbal format
- Meticulous attention to detail with a methodical approach to tasks
- Reading technical circuit and wiring drawings is desirable but training will be provided
- Reliable and self-motivated with a positive attitude and flexible approach
- Good communication skills
- Able to work alone and as part of a small team
