Housekeeping Porter

Working Pattern: 40 hours per week: days, evenings and weekends dependent on business needs; 5 days out of 7

About your role

The London Clinic is looking for a Housekeeping Porter to join its busy Hotel Services team, based in The London Clinic.

The Porter will clean and service hospital areas to ensure the safety, health and morale of patient's recovery, by helping provide a clean, attractive, safe environment with minimal interference to others.

About you

Role responsibilities include:

• To sweep, mop and wet wash floors. Periodically clean and/or polish floors using buffing.
• To strip or scrub and refinish floors assigned.
• To use floor machines automatic scrubbers, wall-washing equipment, waste collection equipment.
• To vacuum, spot clean, or shampoo carpets when assigned
• To remove chewing gum from carpets/courtyard and outer area.
• General Portering Duties:
• To carry out specialist cleaning when and if necessary
• To transport and change televisions and video recorders
• To distribute toiletries and stationery to the floors
• To polish metal or other bright surfaces
• To clean vertical and horizontal surfaces
• To clean tops of door frames and other high areas using a ladder when necessary.
• To wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures and replace disposables such as paper towels, soap and toilet papers
• To collect and transport both refuse and clinic waste
• To remove furniture, beds supplies
• To assist in the transportation of extra beds, hoists, special mattresses, and any other item appertaining to the Housekeeping Department.
• To sweep and keep free from rubbish outside areas.
• To clean the Clinical Rooms on the floors as when directed by the Supervisors
• To remove all Housekeeping deliveries from the Good Entrance to assigned areas in the building.
• To distribute of stores to floors
• Linen Portering
• To check stock levels of linen on the floors
• Receive delivery of clean linen
• Delivery and counting of linen and plastic bags to floors
• Arrive and depart from Hotel Services office at the stipulated times dressed in the uniform provided by the Clinic and in line with the dress code
• Full dirty skips to be moved from sluice room on floors to goods entrance to await collection.
• Assist with monthly stock takes
• Collection and delivery of patient's laundry
• Assist in training of any new agency staff in the duties of a linen Porter.

For this position you will have very good communication skills, be able to work well within a team and on your own initiative, have a keen eye for detail.
