Our client is a leading Ecological Consultancy. They provide a full range of services within ecology from survey, through data management to consultancy. They are currently seeking an Principal Ecologist to join their busy team in South Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will:
-Be responsible for managing and/or directing ecological projects, assisting in the co-ordination of survey and providing advice to clients and colleagues.
-Be an experienced team leader and manager, with a high level of competence in performance management, coaching and mentoring of staff;
-be a Full Member of CIEEM, and preferably have achieved Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) or Charted
-Have a demonstrable track record of working as an ecological consultant, with experience in ecological impact assessment in accordance with the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) guidelines

Essential Requirements
-Detailed knowledge of the practical application of UK wildlife legislation, planning policy and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
-Experience of ecological assessment in accordance with the CIEEM guidelines for terrestrial impact assessment in the UK
-Experience of managing and/or directing ecological projects
-Excellent report writing and technical review skills
-Experience in leading teams and projects
-UK Driving licence
