Job Summary & Purpose
As business partner to the CEO & CFO, this is a critical role at the heart of the organisation. You will support the CFO in driving consistent and insightful financial planning and analysis processes across the Group. You will be responsible for instigating and implementing improved financial reporting and forecasting in order to accurately manage performance and provide critical decision support.
Key role responsibilities
Drive performance
- Analyse Group-wide performance against all relevant comparables; Budget, Forecast, YoY and LFL portfolio
- Risk evaluation, identification of opportunities and recommendation of next steps
- Ensure that the Group's financial models are accurate and up to date, modelling business scenarios and driving effective business decisions
- Deliver commercial analysis to support tactical & strategic decision making across the Group
- Driven by a detailed knowledge and understanding of the business, interpret management information to provide analysis of key business issues
- Identify business trends and insight to enhance Group performance and profitability
- Create and deliver business presentations, communications and briefings to facilitate informed discussions with key stakeholders that relate to business performance, risks and opportunities
- Build partnerships with key stakeholders to proactively identify and drive actions that maximise profitability
- Support the CFO with all IR activity including preparing the annual report & investor decks
- Create a high quality FP&A function
Drive continuous improvement across Group financial systems, controls and processes
- Understand, pre-empt and respond to the data requirements of both internal and external stakeholders
- Drive accurate analysis and commentary on management information ahead of board meetings
- Maintain internal Group reporting, planning processes and ways of working to continuously improve information flows, operational standards, timeliness and accuracy
- Work with all stakeholders to optimise Group forecasting, reporting, analysis and processes through increased systems and technology utilisation
Plan and execute the annual budget / reforecast process
- Create and deliver consistent and detailed budget plans and forecasting across the business.
- Ensure budget plans are consistent with the business strategy
- Deliver the final budgets to all stakeholders including the board
Investor Relations support
- Support the CFO with all IR activity including preparing for investor meetings
- Co-ordinating the annual report production and preparing the first draft of the written sections
- Working with the CEO, CFO & marketing to create the investor deck and any other investor materials
Essential skills and experience
Your attitude and motivation are the critical requirement - you must love what you do, relish a fast paced, constantly changing organisation but these other things would be helpful:
- Qualified Accountant.
- Previous experience of managing an FP&A team including recruiting great talent and developing teams
- Proven ability to deliver improved performance through analysis, insight and reasoning
- Experience of rolling out Group reporting tools and ability to create and implement reports and analysis
- Experience of Adaptive desirable
- Previous experience of working in a customer-focused business, with an international focus, growth agenda and production element
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work in an international business and willing to travel to London (regularly) and the US (occasionally).
