This company is a Sheffield-based international stockist and distributor of corrosion and creep resistant metals for aerospace, oil & gas, power generation and chemical industries.
They have an opportunity to recruit a quality-focused person to join their team. This would be an ideal position for someone with several years' experience in a Quality role (ideally in a manufacturing organisation supplying products to the Aerospace or Defence sectors), who is looking to progress into a more senior position.
They work in a busy and fast paced environment (shipping most of their UK orders on a same day / next day basis), enjoy creating lasting relationships with customers, and finding new customers, new markets and new sales opportunities. Successful candidates should therefore enjoy pressure and the satisfaction that comes from fulfilling customer needs.
The overall role will be to help them achieve excellence in their internal processes and maximise the potential of their quality accreditation. The brief is varied and they want to recruit someone who is flexible and eager to take on greater responsibility. Typical duties will be:
- Ensuring company compliance with QMS standards, processes and procedures for both ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9120 (applications from candidates with existing experience of working to Aerospace quality standards or similar would be particularly welcome).
- Championing adoption of new processes and procedures for customer-specific quality approvals.
- Leading continuous improvement activities, including analysis of non-conformances (internally & externally reported) and follow through of actions to eliminate problems and improve Company performance.
- Contract review of sales orders.
- Review of supplier performance and qualification of approved material suppliers, subcontractors, and hauliers / carriers.
- Conducting internal quality audits
- Liaising with customers to resolve problems and performance issues involving supplied material.
