whg is a customer focused organisation with a strong social purpose. We are one of the West Midlands leading and most successful providers of high quality homes with a presence in 18 Local Authorities. We have aspiring success measures to meet and we are confident that we can achieve them.

If you enjoy working with customers and you have a genuine passion for making a difference then you could be our next Young Persons Temporary Accommodation Officer.

Working with young people in their tenancies, you will be expected to provide an efficient, effective, responsive and individually tailored tenancy management service and assist their individual support provider in the coordination of support. The service will provide dispersed accommodation to young people who are homeless.

You will also be required to develop and maintain a close and effective working relationship with Walsall Council’s Advice and Support Service, Children’s Services and the newly contracted support provider in order to maximise tenancy sustainment for the customers.

To be successful in your application for this role we require you to be educated to GCSE standard, or equivalent, and possess recent and relevant experience in the Social Housing Sector.

It is also considered essential for you to have experience of supporting people to sustain their tenancies in a one to one environment, with an ability to show empathy to their needs, alongside an awareness of current legislation, the welfare benefits system and the impact that this could have on young people.

If this sounds like the role for you, we would love to hear from you. In return for these high expectations you will receive a competitive salary and a great benefits package, including a fantastic working environment, 27 days annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme and a health cash plan.

Please state on your application whether you are interested in applying for the Full Time or Part Time role.

whg is committed to safer recruitment and to the protection and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults and will conduct appropriate background checks where necessary.
