My Client based in the Home Counties and is looking for a Community Safety Officer to join and become productive within the team for 6 months.

To work as part of the Community Safety Team to deliver the Council's priorities and to support the work of the Council's Community Safety Partnership in tackling antisocial behaviour and supporting victims of crime, especially the most vulnerable, focussing on crime reduction or community confidence.

To assist in any response to the Councils issues of crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse, or any of the identified priorities where performance is monitored, measured and evaluated to inform future plans.

Role involves

* This Role primarily involves dealing with complaints of anti-social behaviour and the steps taken to resolve and reduce this.
* The role is 50/50% split in/out of the office.
* There may be an occasional evening police meeting to attend if possible

Experience Required

* Working experience of New crime disorder act amended 2014 Working with housing associations
* Previous experience with crime reduction and community safety Schedules of work, legal cases, report writing Proficient at MS Office Access to a vehicle to use for business use
* Must demonstrate experience, knowledge and understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of community safety functions delivered by local authorities, in terms of crime reduction and community confidence.
* The ability to undertake complex specialist / technical work and make independent decisions without supervision on a regular basis.
* Must be able to demonstrate experience in preparing clear and concise reports including schedules of work, legal cases, case summary reports and internal consultation responses.
* Demonstrate an ability to prioritise work, work independently, recognising personal limits and when to ask for assistance and support, together with an ability to undertake technical work under the supervision of more experienced colleagues.
* Demonstrate knowledge of tools and powers to tackle anti-social behaviour, crime and community engagement issues.
* Must demonstrate the ability to speak fluent English at a level appropriate to be able to carry out the duties of the post, to include the ability to articulate key messages to a varying audience
* Demonstrate a positive Can do attitude, have a professional outlook, be approachable and adaptable.
* Must be able meet physical requirements of the role (occasional need to carry portable items of equipment short distances) and travel efficiently around the District in order to carry out duties and must be able to work unsociable hours as and when work demands require.
