The Estate extends over 25,000 acres and has an annual turnover of £19m. The land and property based enterprise include residential lettings, commercial lettings, property maintenance and development, farming, forestry, country sports, a hotel, a holiday park, beach and car parks. The operations centred on Holkham Hall include day visitors, catering, filming, outdoor events and concerts.
The Estate policy is to manage the location as a progressive commercial operation set within a thriving local community where rural values are upheld. The aim is to ensure the long-term prosperity of the Estate and of those who live and work on it.
This is an exciting new post with responsibility for their successful café operations open throughout the year: The Beach Café, Wells-next-the-Sea, The Courtyard Café in Holkham Park and The Lookout at the entrance to Holkham National Nature Reserve. In addition, this role will lead the team responsible for generating weddings, celebrations and corporate business for their state-of-the-art banqueting and events venue, The Lady Elizabeth Wing, working with a number of approved caterers and suppliers.
The successful candidate should be a commercially driven, financially astute and ambitious individual, an experienced manager with a good knowledge of catering and events and a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service, ideally in the tourism or leisure sector. This is a hands-on role whereby you will need to be operationally highly visible and active. Genuine enthusiasm, a keen eye for detail, an appreciation of quality and a willingness to lead from the front and to work calmly under pressure are essential.
