Product Approvals Technician needed to join our client's global technology business in Chard. Your role will be to work within the Research and Development department with responsibility for both the planning and performance of product testing. You will need to be qualified to ONC/HNC level in electronic/electrical engineering or a similar subject or possess relevant work experience in a similar role. The ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team will be crucial to success in this position. The role will pay a competitive salary along with a range of benefits.

Responsibilities:

* Planning and testing of company products

* Working within the client's in-house laboratory for compliance testing

* Aiding the product design teams through development, production and beyond

* Ensuring that products are compliant with global product standards

* Acting as a source of test expertise for both global standards and legislation

* Performing pre-compliance testing on prototypes in the early stages of development

* Working alongside external suppliers and testing organisations

* Utilise effective planning and reporting tools

Requirements:

* Qualified to ONC/HNC level in electronic/electrical engineering or a related subject

* OR; possessing relevant work experience

* Commercial experience in a similar role would be highly beneficial

* Able to interpret technical documents

* Experience performing lab testing including electrical safety, IEC/EN60335-1, EMC etc.

* Test laboratory quality procedure understanding

* Good hands on-experience of electronic/electrical circuits

* IT and keyboard skills (Microsoft Office)
