My client is located in central Cambridge and they have a wonderful opportunity to join them as an Account Handler, in a personable office you will work with my clients experienced and friendly existing team of insurance professionals.
In this role you will provide support to my clients Executives dealing with their larger corporate clients assisting in the servicing of existing accounts and the development of new business opportunities.
Main Purposes of the job:
Servicing Clients
You will ensure you reply to correspondence promptly.
You will action telephone, fax and e-mails promptly.
You will document meetings promptly and take follow up action promptly or
by an agreed date.
You will follow processes in the company compliance manual.
You will ensure that all aspects of client interface are professional, friendly, speedy and accurate.
Sales
You will work towards an annual sales targets set by the companies Directors.
You will complete proposals and obtain other documentation within time set out in new business procedures to the start of each new risk.
You will ensure that new business is placed in advance of expiry of previous cover.
You will issue invoices within 30 days of placing cover.
You will ensure that insurance company surveys are carried out within a reasonable time scale.
You will ensure any agreed risk improvements are carried out by the client within the time allocated.
You will report all new business through the authorised channel.
Account Handling
You will prepare renewal schedules and contact client prior to renewal within agreed timescales.
You will negotiate alternative quotes - prior to renewal dates - where appropriate.
You will deal with all documentation, invoices, credit notes, etc.
You will foster good relations with insurance companies.
You will ensure that our delegated authority under agency agreements is not exceeded.
You will operate an effective credit control system.
You will support claims activity when required.
Personal
You will attain, maintain and improve proficiency in the use of personal computers.
You will comply with employment conditions as set out in the Contract of Employment, Staff Handbook, Letter of Appointment and other ad-hoc instructions.
You will maintain an acceptable standard of attendance and punctuality.
You will make requests for holiday and notify absence due to sickness in accordance with Company policy.
You will prioritise and organise your own workload.
You will demonstrate highly effective negotiating skills.
You will be capable of working without supervision.
Technical Knowledge Required
You will pass Broker Assess Principles and Practices of Insurance.
You will understand how the insurance market works.
You will show a thorough knowledge of all relevant products.
You will be familiar with the FCA regulations as they apply to consumer and commercial clients particularly concerning Advising and Selling standards, Renewals, Product Disclosure, Cancellation, Claims Handling and Record Keeping.
You will understand how current legislation affects the processes of the role.
You will follow a programme of Broker Assess training modules to acquire and demonstrate knowledge of the specific areas of insurance as applicable.
You will bee familiar with my clients IT Procedures, as per IT Procedure Manual
