Project Worker / Support Worker Opportunities (Homelessness / Vulnerable Adults)
Haringey, North London
Salary £22,959 - £26,542 PA
Permanent, Full Time

Do you have the motivation and skills to work with vulnerable adults and are looking to take the next step in your career?

Would you like to join the leading charity in the homelessness sector and play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of people who have or are experiencing homelessness?

If the answer is yes we could have the ideal role for you.

We are currently looking to recruit to a number of Project Worker positions in our Haringey services. We have opportunities available in different services across the borough which provide accommodation for people with various support needs, including alcohol and substance misuse and mental health.

As a Project Worker you will provide high-quality support, care and advice to our residents that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a way that suits them. You will work with clients to help identify their personal aims and ambitions, and assist in developing plans to achieve them. You will also provide advice and guidance on personal development and relevant life skills.

To succeed in these highly rewarding roles you will have an excellent understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself. You will have experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change. You will also have a sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes, including rent payments/arrears and professional boundary issues.

Above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.

We offer a range of benefits including highly competitive pay, a pension scheme, staff discount schemes and initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. Your career development is of paramount importance to us and we will provide you with a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support your growth.

While some opportunities are available on a 9-5 basis, flexibility is required, as the majority of roles are on a shift rota which will include a combination of early (approx. 8am-4pm) and late (approx. 3pm – 11pm) shifts and some weekends and public holidays. Specific times will vary from service to service.

Final Closing Date for applications: 10am, Monday 28 January 2019

Interview and Assessment Dates: Applications will be reviewed periodically during January. Should your application be shortlisted we will contact you with interview dates which will be taking place in January and February.

Please note it is a requirement for these post that an enhanced DBS disclosure check, will be undertaken for the successful candidates.

Please be advised that all appointments will be made on St Mungo’s current standard Terms and Conditions (T&Cs); this also applies to any internal candidates.
