Production and Planning Manager

Based: Stoke-on-Trent

Salary: up to GBP32k

My client, a long established, high quality manufacturer of precision components, part of a Global Group have exciting plans to grow locally, and are seeking a Production and Planning Manager.

Based in Stoke, this role is predominantly a site manager/works scheduler position and reports directly to the Operations Manager based at the parent group in Cheshire.

We anticipate that the successful candidate would have some experience in a similar role showing sound knowledge of business procedures, have a steady and methodical approach, can work equally well on their own or as part of an active team and have excellent communication skills.

Machining knowledge/experience would be useful but is not essential. Duties will include:

* Overseeing and supporting the team of 16 skilled CNC machinists.

* Ensuring the site is properly maintained and secure at all times.

* Scheduling jobs and allocating them to the correct machine/machinist.

* Ensuring quality and on time delivery targets are achieved.

* Undertaking effective communication with the machine, purchasing and technical teams across both Stoke and other site.

* Costing and pricing of jobs, including measuring of performance of each machine in financial terms.

* Recording and evaluating all rejected and concession jobs

* Managing the existing ISO 9001 quality system

* Introduction of Health and Safety 18001

* Managing the maintenance schedule and records for all machinery and measurement equipment.

* Administer and process payroll including the authorisation of overtime working where necessary.

* Other office duties as and when required
