Category Manager / Property Maintenance/ Procurement / Social Housing
Redhill, Surrey
Upto GBP46,000 per annum
2 year fixed term contract

Our client is a Housing Association with 6,500 homes working across East Surrey and Sussex. They build homes for those that can't meet their housing needs in the market and in doing so they help them change their lives.

They deliver a range of cyclical, investment, maintenance, building and property services to their customers to the value of around GBP9m per year.

They are currently seeking for a Category Manager to evaluate their current maintenance related expenditure, design a procurement plan, provide advice on the best methods for each procurement package to achieve the best value in both financial and social value terms. You'll undertake the procurement activity using their InTend- e-procurement system, whilst effectively working in collaboration with the Repairs and Assets teams.
Proactive in your approach, you will take ownership and responsibility for a portfolio of work types and provide procurement support and develop category strategies that help to rationalise the supply base and deliver ambitious savings targets.
Further to this, you'll implement procurement strategies that deliver both quality and value on an enduring basis by embedding strong contract management tools and social value mechanisms into contracts.

They are looking for a self-motivated, determined individual who is highly organised with strong attention to detail. You will have a good working knowledge of relevant standard forms of contract for construction and maintenance and applicable legislation. Ideally, you will hold MCIPS qualification, or working towards, and/or demonstrable experience. Broad experience achieved within the Social Housing sector (or similar) procurement environments including the use of The Public Contract Regulations 2015, and Section 20 leasehold consultation is essential.

Closing date: 21st January 2019.
