Our client is one of the UKs leading distributors of childrens toys and games, with an extensive product range from some of the most recognized names in the UK.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Key Account Manager, based in the Northern region (Ideally Birmingham upwards) in our clients' Sales department.

Reporting to the General Sales Manager, our client is looking for a high calibre individual to join the team as a Key Account Manager to not only maintain and develop the existing accounts but, also maximise the sales potential, working within a specific area and with selected customers, ensuring that all company procedures are adhered to at all times.

The Key Account Manager will mainly be responsible for
  • Developing a full understanding of the company product, market place and competitor activity.
  • To sell on a "planned sale" basis, analysing by line previous business
  • Presenting new products whilst demonstrating and sharing the companies marketing plans.
  • To keep accurate records and manage each accounts business, monitoring progress versus plan on a regular basis, and resolving issues to achieve growth objectives.
  • To work to an organised journey plan within the trade buying timetable, this will sometimes involve staying away overnight.
  • To forecast for all relevant accounts
  • Work with accounts to put commercial plans in place in line with company expectation.
  • Working closely with sales support, marketing and operations is also a must in order to deliver the company's commitment to its customers.
You will have:
  • Proven track record in sales with at least 2 years previous experience within a sales position
  • Possess the ability to forecast, make sound commercial judgments and take an analytical approach to your work
  • Team Player focusing on both immediate and medium term objectives
  • Excellent self-motivation and high levels of personal commitment to the role
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work across the UK
