I am looking for a Mental Capacity Lead Practitioner within Adults to join one of my clients in the local authority sector.

The purpose of this role is to be a key member of the Mental Health Management Team of WLMHT, which is a multi- agency, multi-disciplinary team, responsible for the planning and delivery of an integrated mental health service for the borough of Ealing and which is responsible for the management of staff.

The succesful candidaye will need to be a key member of the Adults' Services Senior Management Team (ASMT) and to act there as lead for mental health. To provide effective liaison between the two management teams.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* To advise and assist the operational managers of the integrated service to ensure best practice for the social work profession and other social care staff, in line with the standards of the Health and Care Professionals Council.

* To offer professional supervision to the most senior of the social work professionals within the operational teams and to ensure that all social workers receive professional supervision and legal advice when needed.

* To work with managers to identify training needs of all social care and AMHP staff and provide an annual training plan accordingly.

* To work closely with the other professional leads for the different professions within the mental health service and to raise the professional profile of social work within the service.

* To integrate the governance of social care with the Trust's clinical governance arrangements.

* Together with the Service Manager (WLMHT), to lead on the production of the annual business plan for mental health social care services, to oversee its implementation and to report on it regularly to the Director of Adults' Services

* To implement and report on the delivery of the Council's Adults Services' Business Plan in the Integrated Service

* Together with the Service Manager to, lead on the production of recommendations for the annual Medium Term Financial Strategy for the social care service in mental health, to oversee the implementation of MTFS decisions and to report on them regularly to the Director of Adults' Services

* Together with the Service Manager to monitor the performance of social care services in mental health, including financial control, service activity and service quality.

* To work closely with operational managers in the integrated service to assist them to deliver social care services to required standards. To be a member of the mental health union liaison group and other similar groups in Adult Social Care.
