Nicholson Hird Ltd is representing a well-established and expanding manufacturer in the recruitment of an accomplished Project Engineer to hold responsibility for new product introduction related projects and all aspects of engineering related to them.
Owning projects from cradle to grave, the project engineer will be involved in all aspects from prototype to full manufacture, working through a controlled, gated process. Along with close customer liaison, the project engineer will also work in partnership with subcontract suppliers on any outsourced aspect of the project and create and manage all technical documentation.
Key skills
??Qualified Engineer with previous experience in NPI and project engineering ideally in an Aerospace setting
??Experienced in project management, working on several projects concurrently, and using tools such as GANTT charts, MS Project for successful planning and execution
??Familiar with working to structured, gated processes to deliver NPI (APQP, FMEA, PPAP)
??Good understanding of root cause problem solving techniques - 8D, A3, Ishikawa etc.
??Experience using 2D and 3D CAD
??Understanding of Engineering Change processes
??Understanding of some or all of the following manufacturing processes - machining, injection moulding, casting , forging
??Ideally qualified to HNC/HND level in mechanical engineering or related discipline
Importantly, we seek an Engineering professional who shows excellent planning skills and attention to detail, who has excellent customer focus, and who will routinely solve problems at root cause.
You will work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, with on time delivery and optimum quality always being the key objective and at the heart of all decisions.
