HR Advisor / HR Officer - up to GBP30,000pa, plus bonus (5K annual bonus) + Benefits - Castleford

My client, a global and fast-paced business is looking for an experienced HR Advisor / HR Officer, with solid employee relations experience to join their Human Resources team (who are based in various sites across the UK & Ireland).

This role is a standalone HR role based on-site at Castleford, but with a reporting line into the Human Resources Operations Manager based in London. Therefore, candidates must be capable of working autonomously, but be comfortable being part of a wider HR team. Ideal candidates will be used to working in a 'blue collar' environment, with experience of culture change management, developing managers and partnering with local business leads.

Core Responsibilities for the HR Advisor / HR Officer

* Full and sole HR generalist support to the site

* Supporting and leading on all ER related matters - absence, performance, timekeeping, etc

* Coaching and developing line managers to manage employees effectively

* Promoting content within the Employee Handbook to all employees, to ensure understanding

* Supporting with the new hire on-boarding and off-boarding processes

* Embedding the company values and culture drivers locally

* Contributing to HR process improvements (both locally and nationally), to promote best practice and efficiency and ensuring that you are up to date with current UK employment law

* Completing exit interviews and analysis of the results and feeding back trends to management (and actioning)

* Analysing key HR data using the internal HRIS

* Undertaking various HR admin tasks for the site

* Supporting the payroll process (ensuring changes are reported, new starters, leavers etc)

* Supporting the HR Ops Manager with administering and monitoring L&D initiatives

* Contributing to the wider HR agenda across the business.

Qualifications & Experience required for the HR Advisor / HR Officer

* CIPD Qualified (to at least level 5)

* A Human Resources Degree is desirable (minimal education level A-Level - or equivalent)

* Minimum of 2 years HR Advisor / HR Officer level experience, ideally in a blue collar environment, but some experience in a corporate (white colloar) environment would be beneficial

* Strong ER experience and used to leading on a variety of ER cases (this would not suit someone from a shared service background who has advised from afar)

* Able to communicate with individuals at all levels and gain trust and build relationships

* Tech savvy and able to analyse HR Data

* Experience of SAP SuccessFactors would be beneficial

* The ability to speak another language (other than English) fluently, would be desirable.

This role would not suit someone who just enjoys sitting in an office. There will be a strong expectation of being visible and present onsite.
