The Candidate
The Candidate
• Extensive management and operational leadership experience (contract packing, food or packaging production environment)
• Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
• Experienced leader of operational and cultural change
• Goal orientated and willing and able to lead change with a positive attitude
• Tenacious and analytic with good attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
• Commercially aware and able to identify opportunities
• Extensive knowledge of relevant Health & Safety and other operational regulations
• Good IT skills and systems implementation experience (data capture, production management)
Qualifications:
• Degree educated or other professional qualification
• Apprentice trained engineer or extensive experience of plant and machinery
• Formal training and qualification in Lean, CI or other relevant topics
Production Manager
The Role
Role Purpose:
To plan, manage and oversee the daily operations of production and maintenance functions to ensure production output is maximised, customer standards and deadlines are met and that the highest levels of hygiene, quality and safety are maintained.
Reporting to the Site Director this is a pivotal role in delivering the Company's products and services to clients and driving continuous improvements and the Company's values.
Role Duties:
• Perform comprehensive daily, weekly and periodic reviews of the operational site and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Lead daily production meetings, identify operational issue and implement effective solutions
• Develop and implement appropriate systems and processes to plan, manage and improve production operations, performance or efficiencies.
• Liaise with Planning to ensure production requirements are achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Establish, monitor and report appropriate KPI's and production standards and communicate effectively to senior management, colleagues and subordinates.
• Manage the Production Supervisor and Team Leader team; ensuring adequate training and personal development is in place to maximise cross functional capability.
• Ensure sufficient line staff are available, adequately competent and allocated to deliver daily production targets.
• Manage engineering and maintenance personnel to maximise operational availability of the site.
• Ensure all plant and equipment is correctly maintained, repaired and improved on a continuous basis through a planned and deliberate programme.
• Work to identify opportunities to develop and enhance the Company's products, services, systems, policies and procedures.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement projects, training needs and the implementation of best practice, policies and procedures.
• Proactively oversee and manage incoming stock, waste and production losses, ensuring timely reconciliations and corrective action is affected.
• Prepare costings, line
