We are well-established manufactory company based in Aldershot who specialise in the design, manufacturing and distribution of specialist packaging products, who due to staff movement are looking for a Designer to join our existing team.

As the Designer you will have responsibility for the design and development of specialist packaging, working with the sales team to create designs that satisfy the customer's requirements and liaising with the production team to ensure designs are fit for purpose.

Working the hours of 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, we can offer a salary of up to GBP35K plus excellent benefits including free parking, 20 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and pension, plus opportunities for progression.

Reporting to the Design Supervisor, the key aspects of the role include:

Receiving previously manufactured samples, measure, and generate computer-aided drawings and other relevant documentation (design sheet).

Receiving customers' product samples and design suitable packaging using CAD.

Maintaining stocks of suitable board grades and other sundry materials.

Maintaining accurate records of all work done, sent to customers, and approved.

Providing information reports, on the above.

Arranging transportation of samples to customers' premises.

Generating and distribute technical information as may be required.

Generating and distribute CAD form drawings for ordering of tooling.

Visiting customers to support the sales team on new design briefs.

Generating graphic concepts to enhance the look for presenting them to customers' Illustrator

Generating and provide CAD print view drawings for stereo manufacture.

Generating tracings for manufacturing, when required.

Analysing production capabilities and fit and develop new products which can be actively sold by the sales force.

Creatively viewing certain samples which come into Design from various sources, e.g. Production and Sales Reps, to improve their manufacturability/ performance/appearance by re-design.

Recommending manufacturing routes for all jobs which are designed

Liaising with sample maker, and produce samples on the ZUND sample table when required.

Creating specification on the Packaging 3000 system to produce estimates.

The successful candidate for the Designer role will have a strong background in design and creativity, plus relationship management skills. CAD experience is essential (specifically 2D, with 3D being beneficial), as is a background within manufacturing.

You will be a confident problem solver, commercially aware, self-motivated and able to contribute ideas. This position requires an enthusiastic individual with flare who is computer literate, has excellent customer facing skills and willingness to build a rapport with key personnel, customers and shop floor personnel alike
