Our RIT lawyers work closely with banks, turnaround professionals, insolvency practitioners, underperforming businesses, distressed lenders and other stakeholders to create recovery solutions and to advise on strategy to achieve solvent and insolvent restructurings and business sales. We understand the importance of giving practical advice relevant to the context of the sector in which our clients operate. Partner and Team Leader, Andy Stirk is currently recruiting for a lawyer to join the team in Leeds. What will you be doing? You'll have access to the best national quality work and learn from leaders in their field in a role that is wide ranging and diverse, including bank security reviews, bank and investor led restructuring, turnarounds, LPA receivership appointments, business sales and acquisitions, through to support of technical insolvency issues and directors duties advice. In the main the work is non-contentious, with some opportunities to work with lawyers that provide contentious insolvency support. Recent notable examples of our work include advising the boards of a number of domestic energy suppliers, debt sales in relation to well-known retail operators and commercial property portfolios and advising landlords, creditors and supervisors in relation to retail CVAs. We've acted for administrators on issues arising from the trading and sale of care home group responsible for 1400 residents, hotel, and manufacturing groups including issues with international subsidiaries, two special administrations under the Investment Bank Special Administration regime, the administration and transfer of the customer book of an independent wealth manager and the administration and sale of a law firm. What does the ideal candidate look like? You'll have at least two years' insolvency and restructuring experience, ideally gained at a large regional or city firm. That said, if you have a background in banking and/or corporate and are keen to diversify, we'd be happy to consider your application. Whatever your background, excellent legal skills, quality drafting and the ability to offer practical and realistic advice to our clients are a must.
