The Role:
Bureau Veritas is currently seeking a Principal Occupational Hygienist to develop, manage and perform industrial hygiene services to a vast array of Bureau Veritas clients across the UK
Technical Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Provide Industrial Hygiene expertise, including:

* sampling, risk characterization, ventilation and containment assessment
* surveys at client sites for Indoor air quality, including asbestos, lead-based paint, radon gas, and vapour intrusion as well as other parameters
* noise measurement, noise control and hearing conservation
* respiratory protection, personal protective clothing choice
* ionizing and non-ionizing radiation safety
* hazard communication
* heat stress monitoring and control
* Proficient in sampling, data collection, working with laboratories, QA/QC of data results, data reporting, synthesis and analysis
* Complete compliance assessments with clients to identify non-conformances with key safety systems and recommend corrective actions
* Develop and provide training presentations, both internal and to client personnel
* Develop project document deliverable outlines and layouts, technical writing of reports, data interpretation, and development of graphical presentations in a logical and professional manner
* Develop safety and IH management plans, policies and procedures for client industrial sites
* Coordinate with team-members to accomplish tasks which may include being technical lead in the field, supervising technicians and staff level professionals, and relaying proper procedures to other team-members
* Provide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management
* Fulfill project management role on select projects
* Effective communication with clients to understand problems, investigate root causes, and collaborate on solutions
* Participate in technical and/or professional societies and conferences
* Perform quality control reviews on projects within area of professional practice
* Develop and/or review project safety documentation (Job Hazard Analyses, Health and Safety Plans and Accident Prevention Plans)
* Prepare proposals for hygiene related projects
* Train and work closely with other hygiene and hazmat staff
* Project coordination and project management
* Client liaison
* Mentoring and developing the skills of hygiene staff

Business Development

* Assist with the internal and external networking and marketing of the industrial hygiene practice
* Conducting and exploring client and business development activities
* Support the Marketing Team in the development of project opportunities; this includes field reconnaissance, scoping, cost estimating, presentation development, and presentations
Cultivate and expand client relationships. Support Marketing Team client relationship-building

Communications

* Effectively deliver complex written and oral communications, such as proposals, technical concepts and presentations
* Comfortable with presentations of any length of time to audiences of any size via live sessions and webinar sessions
* Participate in a team environment while providing feedback and idea sharing
* Openly shares information and own expertise to accomplish goals and expand the skills of others
Outreach, advocate and support staff interested in area of professional practice

Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications

* Bachelors' degree
* Certified Industrial Hygienist
* 8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, government, consulting or risk management
* Subject matter expert in regulatory standards in areas of workplace safety and Industrial Hygiene
* Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations governing occupational safety and health
* Competency with Microsoft: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Valid driver's license with acceptable driver's record and ability to travel to field sites and meetings
Excellent communication skills (Oral and Written) required
