Job Title: Livestock Supervisor

Salary: GBP19,000 to GBP25,000 DOE

Location: Scunthorpe

Job Type: Permanent Position

Hours of work: 40 hours per week (Including Weekend work)

The Role:

To provide the highest standards of service and enjoyment for our clients customers, providing a safe, friendly and stimulating environment.

Main Responsibilities:

To ensure all customers receive the best service in all areas of the farm
Daily cleaning of animal pens, and weekly "mucking out"
Feeding duties for all animals throughout the farm, including collecting eggs
Routine maintenance of vehicles, livestock accommodations, buildings, fences etc
Large and smaller animal handling, including horses
Moving livestock throughout the grounds
To be vigilant when working with animals and reporting any issues immediately
Interacting with customers when visiting the farm, running staff led feeding sessions
To work within the animal holding area, encouraging children/visitors to interact with the animals
General housekeeping duties - Strimming, mowing

The Person Specification:

Attitudes & Qualities:

Ability to work as a team and independently
Confidence in talking to visitors that attend the farm, patience and ability to interact
Ability to keep calm under pressure
Recognition of the importance of health and hygiene for all visitors, animals and staff.
Must be flexible with working hours including weekends
Good Communication skills
A willingness to work hard and have fun at the same time!
Must be prepared to turn your hand to any job (however messy!)

Essentials Required:

Qualifications / Skills & Experience

A relevant Animal Management qualification
Experience working with a wide variety of animals
Previous Animal Husbandry experience
Physically fit due to heavy lifting and manual labouring duties that are required
Previous maintenance experience
Must be confident handling animals
Rough terrain FLT Licence would be advantageous
