Fixed Term Appointment - 18 months

The Scottish Association for Marine Science is the oldest independent marine research organisation in the UK: one of the oldest in the world. We are located on a modern campus adjacent to the European Marine Science Park, on the peaceful Dunstaffnage peninsular, a few miles from the scenic coastal town of
Oban ('The Seafood Capital of Scotland').

We are seeking an enthusiastic and personable Project Manager to drive the implementation of the second phase of a programme of institutional reform and development. Ideally, you will also have experience in developing successful fundraising strategies, or in effective marketing.

Led by our senior management team, you will plan and guide priorities for the programme, provide overall project management ensuring outcomes are achieved successfully and in a timely fashion. You will foster good relations with internal and external stakeholders and deliver detailed implementation plans.

You will manage the controlled design, delivery and governance along the project life cycle: dealing with day-to-day complexities; ensuring the project is running to time; and meeting targets whilst maintaining a strong focus on our agenda.

You will be a highly motivated individual who enjoys the practical aspects of successful project management and fundraising and/or marketing: taking pride from quality and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable record of excellence in complex project management, and experience in fundraising and/or marketing.

You will have excellent communication skills with staff, leaders and stakeholders: demonstrating the ability to prioritise and schedule workloads in the face of conflicting demands.
