Raw Material Buyer

An established, family run business on the outskirts of Shrewsbury are looking for an enthusiastic, self driven Raw Material Buyer to join the team on a permanent basis. Specialising in the design and manufacturing of sensory additives for animal feeds, this position offers a unique and interesting career path for the right person.

• Support the Financial Director in the procurement of raw materials including aromatic chemicals, essential oils, sweeteners and feed materials
• Day to day liaison with production staff and management
• Develop purchasing processes to improve buying efficiency
• Develop relationships with suppliers
• Manage raw material specifications
• Using Sage 50 on a daily basis

• Experience within the feed sector of the agricultural industry
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Sage 50 experience
• Good analytical skills
• The ability to recognise future trends
• Excellent commercial awareness
• Communication skills
• Confidence and presentation skills
• Ability to make decisions under pressure
• Negotiation skills
