Finance Assistant - Permanent role

Salary up to 25k per annum + 24 days holiday and 8 bank holidays + contributory pension

The working hours are: 8.00am - 4.45pm (Mon to Thurs) and 8.00am - 1pm on Frid (38 hours per week)

A lovely opportunity to join this successful an innovative manufacturing company who make electrical components, working closely with the MOD and the Aerospace industry.

To main purpose of the role is to provide financial support to the business as directed by the Finance Manager. To ensure the integrity of financial data, reporting and analysis; focused particularly on manufacturing processes, inventory and the product portfolio.

The Role:

* Organise physical inventory and cycle counts.
* Investigate Cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
* Monitor & analyse timesheet data submitted by respective departments, and maintain Engineering Work Orders.
* Assist with product costing analysis and the identification of non-production material costs.
* Monitoring of miscellaneous costs, invoice authorisations and queries, & ensuring correct attribution of project and IR&D costs.
* Month-end support including running of inventory reports, and periodic cover for Accounts Payable processing and queries.
* To provide financial support for Strategic plans, Budgets and Forecasts as necessary.
* Continuous Improvement - To contribute to formal and informal processes to improve the business and its performance.

The Person:

* Studying for a recognised accounting qualification, including AAT or equivalent
* Experience of working within an Accounts Department
* Strong Excel skills and able to work with large amounts of data
* Good knowledge of Excel and ability to manipulate large amounts of data
* Ability to plan one's own workload, and to meet deadlines
* Good attention to detail, and attitude to accuracy and completeness
* Able to work and contribute as part of a team
* An understanding of industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments would be useful but not essential
* Must be eligible for Security Vetting
