Islington Council are currently working alongside Spencer Clarke Group to recruit an Payroll Adviser

The role is available on a Full - Time on an initial 6+ month contract

The Hourly rate is GBP15.20 to GBP16.20 we are hoping to get someone started as soon as possible

You assist and support the Payroll Manager and Deputy Payroll Manager to develop and deliver services in line with the Corporate Plan and People Strategy. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Payroll Adviser works closely and flexibly with colleagues to provide a customer-focused, cohesive payroll service to the Council and Schools. You are a trusted adviser on pay related issues, forging strong relationships with managers and employees to provide a high quality, effective advisory service, responding professionally and accurately to queries, updating and maintaining records, working at pace and with a professional outlook.

Working closely with People Services colleagues, you help to streamline and digitise the processes in your area, whilst supporting and contributing to service delivery and good communications, so that you can provide a first line people management advisory service. You contribute to the delivery of projects relating to People Services, gaining the support of stakeholders. With Payroll colleagues you assist with the development of policies and ensure you are informed of any changes to policies and procedures to enable you to resolve queries. You keep abreast of new developments, innovations and best practice in payroll.

You ensure people records and other confidential information are maintained to Council standards and best practice guidance, always being aware of and sensitive to the confidential nature of the information.

You work in a team of up to 11 people, motivating yourself to work highly collaboratively to ensure you help to provide a service that adds value and is cost effective. You contribute to the development of business opportunities for the service, helping to maximise income generation and to save money where possible.
