POSITION SUMMARY

Purpose

To provide first class service to the business, ensuring timely resolution to issues raised and proactively looks at ways to continuously improve the service offered. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of 5 HR and facilities staff as well as Providing HR Business Partnering to all levels across a chosen business unit. Challenge, support and drive performance (remotely and directly) across the business functions through exemplary people and organisational practices.

Department and environment

You will be working in an open plan professional environment, joining an HR team of 8 individuals, split across London and Gloucester. The Human Resources Department provides a full HR generalist and specialist service to Claranet UK Limited for all its sites across the UK, including London, Gloucester, Warrington, Bristol, Leeds and Chelmsford. We are a passionate and driven team with a vision to provide a high-level of service to the organisation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an HR manager, you can expect to be involved in a senior position with responsibility for the following:

Management:

*

Leading, directing, coaching and developing 5 staff members, 2 HR Advisors, 1 HR Administrator and 2 receptionists based across two locations London and Gloucester.

*

Guide and manage the provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for a company alongside your direct reports.

*

To lead and manage both staff and direct reports remotely given Claranet multisite locations

*

To lead the implementation of best HR practices and throughout Claranet and the HR Team

*

To lead HR initiatives throughout the HR team and Claranet aimed at making the Company an even greater place to work

*

Supporting and ensuring the payroll is administrated accurately and on time.

Effective HR Business Partnering

*

Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders within the chosen Business Unit

*

Support the BU management team to meet their business plans by providing strategic and day to day leadership within the field of HR.

*

Supporting line managers across the business unit to deliver organisational success in areas such as change management (including restructure/ redundancies processes), organisational design, employee engagement and talent analytics when required.

*

Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

*

Provide the business unit with expert advice and guidance on all employee relations matters and risk mitigation.

*

Lead recruitment activities providing expert guidance and ensuring recruitment policy/procedure is adhered to

*

Working with line managers to analyse trends and metrics from the HR Reporting Pack

*

Helping to measure employee satisfaction through ENP and identifying areas that require improvement

*

Working alongside the HR & Training Business Partner to implementing the training and development agenda; identify areas that need attention and improvement, promote and develop internal training programmes.

*

Managing talent and succession planning

Acquisition management:

Work alongside the HR Director throughout the acquisition process:

*

Serving as a trusted advisor to staff and managers

*

Be the HR subject -matter expert

*

Provide timely and actionable input following the acquisition

*

Drive and implement the employee integration process from inductions, training, contract harmonisations, payroll, synergy changes, cultural changes etc.

*

Manage the flow of information and related employee concerns.

*

Mange TUPE where relevant

Project Work:

You will be given the opportunity to get involved in several key projects across the business. These will vary through the year and depending on the demands of the business but will likely include:

*

Working with the HR business unit owners and business units to put in place a succession plan for key managers and key staff for each business unit and support function. Ongoing identification of any single points of failure and creating a plan on how to address this.

*

HR specific projects, linked to team objectives - such as reviewing the performance management process from onboarding & probation, to the annual appraisal and objective setting to personal development and improvement plans.

*

You will take a leading role in supporting the HR Advisors in key HR initiatives such as absence management, management development programme. This will include assisting with advising and directing to ensure actions meet the needs of the business.

POSITIONS SPECIFICATIONS

Essential:

* Educated to degree level or equivalent

* Fully CIPD qualified

* Previous management experience is an essential requirement

* Previous HR experience in a generalist role covering all areas of HRM

* Proactive team player with strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

* Experienced in developing, supporting and leading a team of direct reports

* An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial.

* Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team.

* Must be comfortable working with a high degree of change and ambiguity

* Well-developed business skills and commercial awareness

* Ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-moving environment

* Effective under pressure with a strong ability to prioritise and deliver

* Highly organised with excellent planning skills

* Able to understand and communicate technology and Claranet's vision

* Self-motivated and driven individual

* Must be a team player and foremost with ability to assimilate information and make decisions

* Excellent written, verbal and communication skills

* Willing to travel to other sites on a regular basis

Desirable:

Understanding of UK mid-market from a recruitment and business perspective

Understanding of the IT market and cloud computing

Experience with acquisitions
